Pandemic Burnout

Children are facing a mental health crisis during the pandemic. Unstable learning environments, prolonged isolation, shortage of emotional support, health uncertainty, housing insecurity, and various other factors are all making children vulnerable to burnout. As a result, children must be supported in ways that respect their emotions. There is value in honoring the ways children have been feeling during these difficult times.

Here are some ways to help:

  1. Emphasize social emotional learning.

  2. Incorporate mindfulness and relaxation.

  3. Keep kids in the loop.

  4. Strengthen all of their relationships.

  5. Prioritize down time.
